Simple tools for PC cleanup:

Image via Wikipedia Clean up is always a good thing when it comes to keeping your PC clean and also making it perform better while saving some disk space at the same time. Few days back while I was goggling hoping to find a software tool that can remove older java versions installed in my computer, I got lucky - I found a tool named " JavaRa " at this site: http://raproducts.org/ . It removed older versions of java and created a log for me see what it actually removed. That's so cool! I found another cleanup tool in that same site ; it is called " PureRa ". This tool removes certain files that resides in your PC and left there untouched/unused. The removal of these files saves quite a lot of space in the hard disk. After I ran this tool in my Windows Vista PC, it removed a whopping 1.5 GB of files which is what it said in the log file. Yes - it displays a log listing all the safe-to-be-removed files which it deleted safely. It worked
Do you know you can get 411 directory assistance for free!!?!!!?!There is no catch folks!. 1-800-FREE-411 is a free directory assistance service. Just dial the number and use the service. If it is free then how could they afford this service for free!!? Their advertisers pay for the service. Otherwise you don't have to do anything!!Just listen till the ad completes and after that you will be connected to a live operator and you can get your directory assistance !! How easy and simple is that?!I tried it once and it was good except that I have to wait for a minute or two for the ad to finish.

Internet Explorer 8 has a meaning.

Image by Dekuwa via Flickr I read magazines and news most of them online and occasionally offline in print version. Whenever I find a word that I don't know the meaning of, I go to google and then type "define:patsy" for instance. We have online dictionary tools that are available for free like Dictionary.com and other softwares like Babylon . IE 8 has this cool feature "define with Encarta ". When you use IE 8 to read content online and you don't know the meaning of a particular word, all you have to do is select that word and right click on your mouse and select 'define with Encarta"!! there you go! It instantly display the meaning of the word! This is way better than doing the google define thing or using a online service.
